THE YEARLY SACRED RITUAL OF KALACHAKRA, 2011.
During the third Tibetan month, Kyabje Khenchen Donyo Rinpoche lead the lamas and monks of the monastery to conduct the yearly sacred ritual of Kalachakra. An elaborate sand mandala was constructed and the ritual lasted nearly two weeks. On the 14th day of the month the fire puja was performed. On the full moon day, they offered the feast offering and received the self-empowerment where the lamas wear the traditional ornaments of the deity. In the evening of the 15th, the sand mandala was gathered into a vase. The contents were ceremonially escorted to and offered in the Mirik Lake on the morning of the 16th.
